Book Game: Chess

The classic game of Chess turned into a book. We spent a great deal of time making sure this design captures the elegant feel of the game, refined through many rounds of design to get it just right.

Disguised as a book

This design blends in on your bookshelf or table. When you are ready to play, turn the cover and your chess pieces are right there. The book folds open and stands up to form the board, and the pieces magnetize to the board and to the cubbies.

Magniflip

Special geometry inside the chess pieces lets the magnets hold no matter how a piece is oriented, so magnet polarity never matters.

Easy storage

It looks like a book when not in use. The covers hold together with magnets, keeping all pieces secure inside.
